How It Works
HomeCellTM brings cellular and PCS
phone signals into dwellings where little or no signal currently exists. HomeCellTM’s
external antenna is mounted in a place outside your home where you get
good cellular signal. This is usually the place you go to outside
your home when you want to make a cellular powphone call! If you
don’t
know where the signal is good, then mounting the antenna on the roof
or in the attic usually works fine.
HomeCellTM takes
that signal from the outside antenna and brings it into your home through
a cable that is attached to the antenna. That
signal is then transmitted throughout the house by the HomeCellTM bi-directional
amplifier. The cable that is connected to the outside antenna is
connected on the other end to the HomeCellTM amplifier. Just
place the HomeCellTM amplifier on a table or shelf close to
where the signal is worse in your home and the signal is then distributed
through out your house. In addition, the signal from your cell phone
is picked up by the small antenna mounted on the HomeCellTM unit
and is amplified, transmitted the other way through the cable, to the outside
antenna and to the cellular network. The coverage in your home will depend on the level of received signal outside the home but typically the unit will cover 1000-2500 square feet.
Simple idea … and it works! Note that the strength of the signal
in your home will be proportional to the signal received outside your home …..
meaning, the better the signal where you mount the outside antenna, the stronger
the signal will be throughout your home! |
